Hello and welcome! I am Jen Gerken.
At the age of 9 I started taking folk dance classes, also tried other variations and types along the way, but I was particularly interested in a dancehall style. Summing up I can say I’ve been doing sports since childhood.
During my studies at the university I fell in love with fitness. My original intention was to get myself into shape to look more toned and fit. With the time I took a deeper dive into this area: I competed in bodybuilding contests, read piles of specialized books, and began studying nutrition. Having worked for one year as a journalist after graduation, I realized that the world of fitness is much more appealing to me. I took an Integrative Wellness Academy Master Life Coaching Program and got a job in the fitness club.
In addition to 21 years of dancing I have 7 years of coaching and fitness expertise working with children and adults in various formats: one-on-one, semi-private, personal. I can help not only in getting a better shape but also to rehabilitate after sports-related injuries, get trained for completions, design a personalized nutrition plan for your specific purposes.
I am renting a small gym at 14591 SW 26 Street Miami, Florida. It is fitted with a locker room, showers, kid’s space and a range of top-rated gear: machines for every major muscle group, mats, dumbbells, treadmills, bikes, elliptical trainers. It is not crowded, not more than 7 people at once.
When you come to your first trail lesson we discuss what goals you want to achieve with me. Then I ask you to perform a few simple exercises to see your fitness level. After I show you the equipment and explain how it works.
